Top 10 Tiffany’s Engagement Rings
July 16, 2009
Every girl knows that Tiffany & Co. have gorgeous jewelry, even if only from watching Audrey Hepburn’s amazing performance in ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’. Most of you probably got a closer taste of Tiffany jewelry by now, given that the company has opened stores all over the world already. Whatever kind of jewelry you may be looking for, Tiffany & Co. will not only hold it, but you’re also guaranteed to find something absolutely stunning amongst what they hold. The quality and uniqueness of their jewelry makes Tiffany’s the perfect place for your boyfriend to go to find your engagement ring. It’s okay to have sky-high expectations this once - after all, the rule of thumb is that an engagement ring should be worth three month’s salary, and for most people, that’s enough to buy a beautiful ring, especially since princes at Tiffany’s are quite reasonable.
Tiffany’s has a range of engagement rings on offer of which one is more desirable than the last. You can imagine how hard it was to pick just ten, but after a lot of comparing and thinking it over, here are the top ten most beautiful engagement rings from Tiffany’s.

Beautiful heart
1 - Tiffany Bezet Heart
This ring seems to be the embodiment of simplicity, style and elegance itself. Its design could not be simpler - a heart-shaped diamond set inside a ring of plain silver. Depending on the number of carats you want, the diamond will vary in size, but the size of the one carat heart seems perfect - just big enough, but not so big it will seem pretentious. Even the 0.5 carat diamond looks sweet, and sells at just above $4300, while the one carat ring will set your man back about §10000. One look at the ring will confirm it is completely worth its price. The plain design and high quality diamond is what makes this ring’s charm - it needs no fancy additions or complicated details to stun.

Three Stone Ring
2 - Three Stone with Sapphire Side Stones
While most of Tiffany’s engagement rings are made simply of silver and diamonds, the sapphire stones left and right of this ring’s diamond are what make it so special. It is hard to tell which one sparkles more brightly, almost as if the diamond and the sapphires were constantly trying their hardest to outshine each other. The one carat ring costs about $14000, but again, the 0.5 version at $6000 looks fine. In fact, when you’re hesitating, it’s always better to choose the smaller ring, because if you choose the bigger one you run the risk of seeming pretentious and there is no elegance in that at all.

The Famous Tiffany Setting
3 - The Tiffany Setting (Gold Ring)
This ring is basically nothing short of a legend. Created over a century ago, it has been given names such as “the ring of rings” and is definitely Tiffany’s most popular engagement ring. There is no denying its stunning beauty. A Tiffany diamond is delicately set upon a beautiful gold ring. Like so many rings at Tiffany’s, the ring’s simple elegance is what sets it apart and makes it special. Prices for the one-carat ring start at $7300, which for something as beautiful as this ring is worth it. While I decided for matters of personal taste to list the ring of rings as number three on our list, I am absolutely certain that for many people, it would be the undisputed number one.

Ribbon Ring
4 - Round Brilliant Ribbon Ring
This ring made it into the top ten because of the original detail it features: the round diamond center is not only set inside a ring, it is also contoured by a diamond ribbon. This small but important feature makes of what would otherwise be nothing that unusual a pretty and sophisticated ring. Prices start at $9050 for the one - carat diamond ring, which seems quite reasonable, as do most prices within the Tiffany range. If you like elegance and delicateness, then this ring should be your choice, or at least your future husband’s choice.

Pear Shaped Ring
5 - Pear Shape
While the Bezet collection also carries a ring with a pear-shaped diamond on it, the ‘Pear Shape’ ring seems more sparkly and more elegant. For the one - carat diamond, prices start at $8300, which is even slightly lower than what the Bezet ring would cost. In this case, I think the ring looks even better with a channel-set band ring (which for most rings comes across as ‘too much’ and quite pretentious). The shape of the diamond and the design of the ring as well as the way the diamond is set make this ring the perfect ring for an added band, and this is definitely worth the additional cost.

Marquise Ring
6 - Marquise
The particular shape of its diamond is what makes of the marquise ring a unique piece of jewelry. The shape is particularly flattering for the hands and the fingers, and a diamond of such a size is bound to catch the eye, if only by the light it throws. Even so, the ring is not too big or too eye-catching, and the design is kept simple. This is one ring you will not have to show your friends, because they will be quick enough to notice it and be amazed. The prices for the one-carat ring start at just over $16000, which is quite a sum, but remember the three - month’s - salary rule. You need not have a bad conscience for costing your partner this much; after all, this is a once-in-a-lifetime purchase.

The Tiffany Setting in Silver
7 - The Tiffany Setting (Silver Ring)
This is less spectacular than its counterpart mentioned at number three, but it is still a gorgeous ring, the only difference being that the band is in silver here. This takes away the beautiful color contrast that the Tiffany Setting with its gold band has to offer and that makes it so special, but the ring is still stunning in its simplicity, especially when one knows the tradition lying behind it and the popularity of the ring. The prices are slightly higher for the silver band ring and start at $8500 for a one-carat ring.

Tiffany Novo Ring
8 - Tiffany Novo
As you might have gathered, I am not a big fan of pretentious, eye-catching jewelry that can easily seem obnoxious and I think small but expensive quality jewelry looks much more elegant and appropriate. The Tiffany Novo ring is right on the limit, in my opinion. Its band is decorated with round diamonds, and in the middle is set a larger square diamond, which makes for quite a lot of sparkling and shining. The ring is beautiful, but I would recommend choosing the 0.3 carat diamond, which, with prices starting at $2750, is a real economy deal amongst Tiffany rings and looks, or at least so I think, better than the ones with bigger diamonds, since it is simpler and more discreet.

Jean Schlumberger Engagement Ring
9 - Jean Schlumberger Engagement Ring
Designed by Jean Schlumberger, this ring is said to have been inspired by the beauty of a flower bud. How romantic and artistic is that? This ring is only available with a 1.5 carat diamond and prices for that start at $33000, so as you can see, the Jean Schlumberger ring is amongst Tiffany’s more expensive pieces. Diamonds are set in its band to complement the large diamond in the middle. The design looks quite sophisticated and intricate, almost as if someone had spun the silver together by hand. The ring is definitely worth looking at, even if the price will be too high for many people.

The Delicate Tiffany Flower
10 - Tiffany Flower
The shape of this ring resembles that of a flower, hence the name. The ring is available with a 0.6 carat diamond only, and prices start at $4000 roughly, which for a Tiffany ring seems reasonable. The flower is made of silver mainly, and the diamond decorating the middle of the flower is meant to represent its nectar and is quite small. The shape is nice and despite the small diamond, the ring still sparkles and shines, making the wearer look all the more radiant.
Tiffany & Co. carries many more rings, and all of them have unique features and details that constitute their beauty and set them apart from the rest. While I have chosen to mention ten rings in particular, every single Tiffany creation is worth mentioning, looking at and fussing over because every Tiffany creation is gorgeous, and while looking through their range, you might well find a ring you like much better than the ones listed here. A final word of advice: Looking for an engagement ring is like buying shoes, you have to fall in love with it instantly or it is not the right ring for you. When you browse through all your options, there will be one ring that will catch your eye, and of which you will, upon seeing it, be certain that it is the right ring for you.
