The art digital wedding photography – an oxymoron?

When you think of art you think of museums, paintings and sculptures and basically things that are original and that you have never seen before. Can this also be true for wedding photography? Wouldn’t you expect to see the same types of photos again and again? It can be true for wedding photography too, but only when choosing the right photographer that takes pictures of the right couple and knows how to handle the right photography software. The art of digital photography most of the times actually happens after the actual wedding event.
Traditional vs Crazy Weddings
There is the traditional white wedding that many couples dream of, but most still like to add their own unique style to the wedding party. Some couples prefer to have rather crazy wedding. No matter if what you want is a Halloween-style zombie wedding with party guests dressed up as zombies or a Pagan hand fasting ceremony in nude or if you decide to skydive during the vows. It’s all possible, but it also makes the art of digital photography a bit more difficult. Photographers must be prepared for this type of extraordinary wedding. In case of a more traditional wedding taking pictures is probably easier, however, to make them into something really unique is much more difficult. Therefore photographers have to work with the equipment, the light and the poses to make the wedding photographs of every couple a piece of art.
It’s not always people who marry
In today’s world it is not only humans who want a wedding ceremony that is captured by digital photography, but also more and more pet wedding ceremonies are arranged. Usually this takes the form of a social get together between the owners and the pets. It is more a kind of costume party as there is no real bridal couple that has to live together and share taxes afterwards. Still the owners of the pets of course like pictures of their darlings’ special day.
You may think that in these cases the expectations of the art of digital wedding photography are easy to fulfill, but think again. It may be quite complicated to get a well-focused shot of the animal couple when they are well-behaved and indeed look like a bridal couple. Taking as many shots as possible will ensure that there are some shots that the owners will really enjoy. Continuous shoot mode in these cases is a very good mode to use as pictures are taken every split second for about half a minute.
Editing software
Of course the art of digital wedding photography also depends on how you manipulate the photos in an art computer program after taking them at the ceremony. A variety of effects can improve the photos and turn them into something special and a true piece of art that the bridal couple will enjoy.
